“The sun never knew how
great it was until it hit the
side of a building.”
— Louis Kahn
We build architecturally ambitious homes and distinctive spaces across the Berkshires and Hudson Valley — in close partnership with the architects and designers who share our standards.
Rooted in place and guided by a builder's sensibility, Ian Rasch and Roman Montano founded Alander on deep regional roots and complementary expertise — constructing residences defined by craftsmanship, character, and enduring beauty.
Rooted in place, we build with enduring care for the landscapes and institutions that shape this region — and that we help shape in return.
